Makerspace – build your own digital workshop

Start in a small garage and build up your makerspace step by step. Produce with 3D printers, lasers, CNC machines and other devices, sell on the marketplace and invest in new machines, bigger buildings and better production.

Every machine uses power. With solar panels you generate your own energy – real weather data controls the yield. Store the surplus in power stations and keep your workshop running at night.

Move from the garage into a storage unit and later into a warehouse. You get special materials at contested scrapyards: build robots, take over the yard, recycle – and defend it against other makers.

Contracts from Mike and other clients bring extra challenges and rewards. How you build up is entirely up to you.

Produce. Sell. Invest. Automate. Generate energy. Recycle. Grow.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Makerspace

What is Makerspace?

Makerspace is a free-to-play browser game about digital fabrication, production, trading and building your own workshop. You start in a small garage and turn it, step by step, into an ever-growing makerspace.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Makerspace runs directly in your browser. You can sign up and start right away, without any download or installation.

Which machines are there?

The game features 3D printers, diode lasers, CO₂ lasers, CNC machines and other devices from the world of digital fabrication. New machines unlock additional production options and products.

How does solar power work in the game?

You can install solar modules and cover part of your workshop’s power demand yourself. The actual output of your solar system is influenced by real weather data.

Can I store solar power?

Yes. Surplus energy can be stored in power stations and used later – for example at night, when your machines keep producing but your solar system generates no power.

What does the self-sufficiency rate mean?

The self-sufficiency rate shows how independent your makerspace is from the public power grid. A high share of self-generated power not only saves electricity costs, it also matters for leaderboards and achievements.

What can I do with the products I make?

Products can be sold on the marketplace or are needed for certain contracts. Your income pays for new machines, raw materials and the further development of your makerspace.

What are the scrapyards?

Scrapyards are contested recycling sites where rare special materials can be obtained. With robots you build yourself, you can take over a scrapyard, recycle resources there and defend it against other makers.

Is Makerspace pay-to-win?

Makerspace can be played for free. M-Coins are an optional premium currency and are not required to progress in the game.

Is there a player handbook?

Yes. The player handbook contains detailed information on machines, raw materials, products, buildings, power and solar, trading, contracts, crafting and other game mechanics. It is the same content as the in-game wiki. Go to the player handbook
